Hello Breakie!



I am the biggest supporter of eating breakfast in the morning.

Here's why:
-Improves the Body’s Metabolism
-Improves Overall Nutrition
-Improves Ability to Concentrate
-Helps to Control Weight

I aim for whole grains, a serving of fruit and vegetables and a good protein. And coffee. For additional protein and omega-3's & 6's you can add flax seeds to the batter. Top with fresh berries, nut butters, yogurt, etc.

Eat.

Whole Wheat Waffles

Ingredients:
1-1/4 cups whole wheat flour
1 tbsp baking powder
3 tbsp sugar
3/4 tsp sea salt
2-3 egg yolks, well beaten
2-3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 1/4 cups milk / soy milk
3 tbsp olive oil

Sift together the first 4 ingredients (whole wheat flour through salt).

Combine and beat the egg yolks, milk and vegetable oil. Add this to the flour mixture, blend. Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites.

Bake in waffle iron.

Makes a lot:

I love freezing the leftovers and reheating in the toaster for time crunched mornings.

I've been known to cook breakie from time to time. It is the most comfortable meal for my friend, the egg, to make an appearance.
